Still getting the split picture phenomenon as I described in Beta 2.48C
see attached images :
It splits horizontally into 2 starting at 2640 x 1760
then into 3 at 3648 x 2736 using the camera preset mode.
in the power of 2 preset mode it splits into 8 at 8192 x 4096
I'm using the latest respective drivers for both my GTX460 render card and my old ATI 2600xt display card.
Continuing to test for other bugs.

Which is the host address for license check? It seems my firewall doesn't let 2.49 through, unless allowed specifically? Although all previous versions work without problems.
Hm, wait, now it's working
First impression: Starting the render process seems faster (I skipped 2.48), but Octane is back at eating 100% of my CPU's while rendering and the GUI is sluggish...

Just an update on the screen problem i reported above.
It appears it's only a display issue.
I saved out a high res. render to a tiff file and it's fine, not corrupted at all.
So something is slightly hinky...( that's a technical rendering term BTY
) as the ATI Card fights with the Nvida card.
also the new Offline mode was quite handy as my internet connection went down this morning for a few hours and I was able to carry on regardless.

Hi all,
Regarding the octanelive check and firewall issues,
Can everyone here report what his situation is ?
If it works without any issues for you, please drop us a post saying it does and possibly what your firewall situation is,
eg, is it on, and does it have a rule for octane ?

I have solved the connection issue by checking "all access" at the fire fall settings. Before it was at question mark state so it still should have worked by confirming a pop up window. I have also updated my firewall.
This issue has probably something to do with expired certificates.
I don't have any rules for Octane. At first 2.49 did not work (2.47 and 2.46b worked fine). Then I just stopped & restarted the firewall and it worked... dunno why...radiance wrote: Can everyone here report what his situation is ?
Now all versions work fine (Live DB too)

Seems to be working ok through my win7 and router firewalls.I do have a rule in place for Octane both in and out on the win 7 firewall settings.

After I reload a obj file I can't see the render view.
Since the ambient occlusion works now correct with transparent objects (Thank you Marcus!!!),
something very useful is now possible.
You can now simply hide objects by using the opacity slider in the material!!!
Less needs for re exports! That saves time and disk space.
This release saves my current project
