Hello,
I am using 2.48c.
I am trying to render a ring with shadow on ground.
Alpha channel is working perfectly. But
I am not able to utilize the alpha shadows feature under DL.
Can somebody guide me?
I tried to enable the opacity for the ground but the shadow is getting removed too...
Basically, I just want to have ring and shadow and want to eliminate the ground plane...
Why it is not working?

The "alpha shadow" means that a partially transparent material will cast partially transparent shadows. It's not the "shadow catching" feature you think it is.
