that is exactly what I assumed. Octane does not check the material changes of an altered ocs file (unless the exporter says it has to).
It would be great to write a line of code (as a user) in the ocs file to tell octane that it has to relink the materials. So simple embed what the exporter does but directly in the ocs file. I don't know if this could be an easier inbetween solution preventing mixing up other things.
