Hi, I try a file from BA with a node setup to fake GI.

http://blenderartists.org/forum/showthr ... odes/page4

Then I was curious to render the scene in octane and the first thing I saw was the softer shadows in octane.
I could not find a setup in octane with harder shadows like it is in bright sunlight.
Any suggestions ?

Thanks, mib

The sun as a lightsource is not a point, but a disk with a certain diameter (viewed from the Earth), so the shadows are never perfectly sharp. This becomes more evident the bigger the distance between the object and its shadow.

Ah, thank you, i remember read a discussion about control sun size in octane.
Is octane correct in shows more diffuse shadows in evening settings, diameter of sun grows up seemingly during athmosphere effects?

Tnx again, mib

Wow, I'm surprised at how nice the Blender render looks.
