I've manage to take time out to model and texture the eyelids for the eye with Blender 2.49a while I'm taking a break at my parent's home. I couldn't test it with Octane though, since I'm away from my computer. My parent's computer does not have a cuda-enabled VGA. I'll test it tommorow when I get back to my computer.

What do you guys think the black gray line on the upper eyelid coming from?

I believe that's just the shading which results from your lighting setup. Lit from below, you get shadows above ... moving your main light source would help, or you could add another (dimmer) lamp higher up to fill in the darker areas.

yup, the grey line is a resultant of the shadow of your main light
