Hi
After much investigation, we have decided to go down a 3DGS route for our shoot instead of 4DGS.
Theres not much info around yet about the Octane GS loader, can any one point me to anything useful? (only really found the Pixel Lab tut to be of any use)
Can any Otoy people tell me, if i have a top end workstation (thread ripper pro, 5090, 128gb DDR5 etc...) Will octane be able to handle maybe 30-40 spats at a time? So have 30-40 GS loaders in a scene? Are there any known limitations?
We are capturing actors with a 180degree 50 cam rig, Ill then construct the scene in C4D, so lots of parts to fit together.
I just need to give my director some confidence we can do all this! Or am I better using a 3rd party like AlphaPixels GS loader maybe (im not asking for Otoys opinion of that plug in ha)
All help, views, opinions and advice much welcome and appreciated!
Have a lovely weekend all.

Hi,
First sorry for the late reply.
I don't see why it would be a problem to load 40-50 splats. As long as you can fit them into the VRAM it should be fine.
The C4D plugin will get some nice new features soon, which include a realtime C4D Viewport preview of the splat and loading of animated splat sequences. Also export to spz should then be possible.
Indeed our first internal beta of this already looks promising.
