Hi community,
We have a single pc which keeps crashing trying to save a denoised pass. At first I thought this was the same issue regarding the denoise channel naming from a few months ago, but I tried every Octane version from 2026.2 - v1.8.4 onwards and every single one crashes when Show passes and a denoise pass is enabled.
We did rollbacks to nvidia drivers, reinstalled cuda/cudnn libraries, create a new simple scene. Nothing helped. The pc has been used with Comfy AI which might interfere somewhere?
Bug reports are attached. Would be great if someone could have a look to point us in the right direction. We use the exact same scene with same Octane and C4D versions on other pcs, no problems there both through the Picture viewer render or Deadline.
PC specs
Cinema4D 2026.1.0
Octane 2026.2 for Cinema4D v1.9.0 (<- the company default version)
NVIDIA RTX 5090
NVIDIA Studio Driver 610.88
Windows 11 Pro (10.0.26200)
TUF GAMING Z890-PLUS WIFI
CPU: Intel Core Ultra 9 285K
Corsair DDR5-6000 64GB RAM
Crash on denoise save with only one PC on all recent versions of Octane.

Hi,
Unfortunately it is a know issue caused by ComfyUi, it interferes with OPTRIX in Nvidia driver, and the only solution for now is to format and reinstall from scratch.
But there is a workaround, if you disable C4D Save option and "Use denoiser beauty" in Main tab: Then, in Render AOV Manager tab, you disable "Show passes" and "Multilayer" options, while enabling the "Denoised beauty" option: You can render with denoiser without crashes.
ciao,
Beppe

Hi Bepe,
Disabling the Cinema4D save works. We're rendering through deadline, so we don't need to see the passes in the Picture Viewer and we don't use multilayers anyway so in the end it isn't that much of a difference for us for now.
Thanks for your quick help.

Great!
Happy GPU rendering!
