Can the vector displacement map be applied in Octane Render for 3ds max?

Does anyone have or could provide me with a reference?

Because VDM is used in other software like Cinema 4D and when rendering with Octane Render for C4D.

They talk about creating ocean water, and how to easily create ocean water in CR.

Thanks if anyone can help me with this.

I'm not sure if I can attach the video link as a reference; I don't want to be limited in my use of this forum.

After watching several videos on creating ocean water, only one explained how to create ocean water in OctaneRender using a Vector Displacement Map texture.

Autodesk provides this map and a tutorial on how to create ocean water.

I hope the OctaneRender team doesn't censor me for sharing this image and the simple steps for creating water in CR.

Thanks to the OR team and parid4331 for their patience.

A simple EXR image can achieve incredible results; the key is obtaining more EXR images, like the one provided by Autodesk, to create different ocean water features.

It's a texture similar to Phoenix FDOceanTex, the colors change from the texture.

Hi Pelana001_1,
One limitation of this texture is the level of customization it offers based on your specific needs. In this case, you can use a turbulence noise texture, which allows the texture to be easily scaled and adjusted while remaining very lightweight, since it is procedurally generated.

Hi parid4331, you're right, for creating ocean guides without being able to use the phoenixFDOceanTex map, it's a good option.

That's correct, the turbulence option improves the results.

Thanks for your input.
