Macbook Pro Crash after Import?!?

That GPU works fine, but please install the older cuda driver...
The tutorial video also uses a 9400 gt, just make sure you install the exact same driver, not the newer 3.2 drivers.

our commercial version 2.4 supports cuda 3.2

Radance,
does that mean it should work fine for the bought version?

I tried it again, and still having the same problem with starting up Octane. I checked the CUDA system preferences pane and it confirms that I have the 3.0 drivers. Also says that there are some compatibility issues as my GPU driver is newer than my CUDA driver. This might be why it doesn't recognise my cuda card when I start up.

Please could you help me to know what I should do? I'm not a programmer, I'd just like to see if I can render my architectural images fast enough in Octane to justify me not buying a new computer.

Hi,

Our current licensed version is built against CUDA 3.2.
As the current 2.3 and 2.4 branches are not %100 finished, we will wait until they are to update the demo.

We have a lot of mac users with issues with newer cards and drivers using the now 7 months old demo...
I suggest if it doesn't work on mac, to evaluate octane on windows to see if it fits your needs and if it does, get a beta license and use our newest 2.42 release, built with CUDA 3.2.

Thank you Radiance,

Will that license include both a Windows and Mac OS X Octane Render? I'd prefer to use my Apple side as it is much easier to use and it recognises both cards.

The octane license is totally os independent, osx, linux, win ;)
anyway you must instal cuda 3.1.17 in osx 10.6.5 and cuda 3.0:
