Hi,

Yes, you can!

Open the .orbx scene in Standalone, then go to menu File/Unpack package, choose a destination and hit OK.
An "assets" folder will be created in the chosen location, with all geometry and texture nodes used in the scene.

ciao,
Beppe

Bepe
I have a diff issue :>))

I have an ABC file in the standalone that works. Yaaaaa!!!

(I have tried IMPORTING the same ABC file into blender and maya and it is unable to import. This could be because the abc exporter from Daz Studio 3d is a bit flakey :>)))) So I am guessing the Daz "type" of abc file is compatible with octane standalone but not other apps.

So I thought I would try exporting (the abc that works in the standalone)... out using the geometry exporter node/script:

I saved out to an abc and fbx Sucessfully

Then re-import them to octane standalone, maya and Blender as a test (They successfully come back in all the apps) but they only export a file abc or fbx with no animation.

Any ideas mate? (Put the orbx file in here if it helps)

Best

Peter

Hi Peter,

Your ABC file is opening without issues in C4D, so I have exported it again in ABC format from C4D:

Then imported back in Standalone without issues:

Please try with the following version and report back, thanks:

Thats good to know it works in Cinema Bepe. Thanks.

Are you able to export it from the standalone using the geometry node and create a NEW ABC node that has animation in it?

I am trying to ge an ABC into Blender that I can use a particualr addon with. So it has to work in blender and my original from daz does not thats why I was trying to re-export it out from the standalone to see if it would then go into blender.

Would you mind re-exporting it from Cinema (I do not own that one) and sending that to me.... OR is there a way to use the geometry node to get an ABC and not just a still mesh as I have been getting from the standalione??

Thanks mate

I realize my more simple question might be..

When you use geometry exporter on an abc file and write out an abc file... does it include the animation?
or
If you unpack it... does it rewrite anything or just "unpack" originals.

Secretly hoping Octane's rewriting of the abc fixes the issue of not being able to import my original abc into blender. Trying to use octane to fix someone elses issue :>))
