Hi everyone. See topic. I can group and ungroup nodes in the the Cinema 4d Octane Node Editor. But the group is missing an output, so that I can use whatever happens within the group. Am I doing something wrong here?
And one more question: Does "Save as preset" do anything? It would be so handy if I could save a node group as a preset so that I can reuse it later.
Group Items in Node Editor any Use?

The outputs may need to be connected to something before grouping the nodes? Not sure if this is the only way, but when I group stuff (e.g. just some RGB spectrum nodes) that already flows into the material, then the output pins do show up on the "NodeGraph" node with the connection still in place.
However, if i sever one of these connections I then cannot restore it again (without ungrouping, then re-grouping). This seems to be a bug? The pick whip / lasso thingy shows up correctly when dragging out from the output pin, but doesn't allow me to connect to an input pin.
Also, +1 on the "Save as preset" question! The option is there in the right-click menu but what does it do? If this would work on node groups, that could be really helpful (e.g. save specific noises).
