SOLUTIONS TO COMMON ISSUES
1) Make sure your NVIDIA drivers are up to date.
2) Make sure you have the latest Rhino Service Release installed.
3) If you get an "Error Starting Octane - Could not load OctaneWrapper?.dll" error when installing the plugin, this is generally due to not having the latest NVIDIA drivers installed (so see Solution 1) above.
4) If you get a "Package not compatible" error when installing the plugin, please follow the instructions at https://wiki.mcneel.com/rhino/5/rhi-problems -> "Package not compatible".
5) If you get an "Unable to load OctaneRenderForRhino.rhp plugin: initialization failed" error when starting the plugin, delete the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\McNeel\Rhinoceros\6.0\Plug-Ins\F109BD23-4CF3-4C0B-9F83-06BE474B0152 and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\McNeel\Rhinoceros\6.0\Plug-Ins\F109BD23-4CF3-4C0B-9F83-06BE474B0152 registry entries using Regedit and then reinstall the plugin. If this does not resolve the problem, delete HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\McNeel\Rhinoceros from the registry and then reinstall the plugin.
6) If you get an "OctaneRender for Rhino not activated." error when rendering via the Rhino->Render->Render menu, open the plugin Setup window via the OctaneRenderForRhino command, or by adding the plugin panel to the Rhino Properties window as per https://docs.otoy.com/RhinoH/RhinoPlugi ... oceros.htm.
7) Cuda error 999 - failed to load shader code: Multiple definition of 'cpSptStatistics' in 'cuda_teturemode' means that your plugin version is too old for the Nvidia drivers that are installed, so update to the latest version of the plugin
8) The Octane Viewport does not appear after clicking the Open Viewport button. This occurs when the Viewport was previous closed on a second monitor, or off the current screen. To resolve this, delete the plugin configuration file config.xml as per https://docs.otoy.com/RhinoH/RhinoPlugi ... ration.htm.
9) LiveDb materials containing OSL nodes will not load into the plugin correctly. The plugin does not currently support OSL Projection or Texture nodes. Instead, copy these Livedb materials into the clipboard from Octane Standalone and paste them into a NodeGraph material in the plugin.
10) Where is the macOS version? I have done quite a lot of work investigating a macOS version of the plugin for Rhino. Unfortunately the macOS UI that Rhino uses offers far fewer controls than the Windows version, and I don't think it's possible to replicate the tree structure that the plugin uses in Windows. So I think it would require a complete re-write of the plugin in order for it to work on macOS, and I don't think that would be possible in the near future.
11) If when rendering with Octane 2021, the render appears to be using a different color map, set the Kernel->White Light Spectrum to Legacy/Flat to render as per Octane 2020.
12) Rhino locks-up/freezes when loading a .3dm containing Octane data. This is due to the plugin searching through very large (or invalid) folders searching for missing texturemaps. To resolve this, delete the plugin configuration file config.xml as per https://docs.otoy.com/RhinoH/RhinoPlugi ... ration.htm.
Rhino Version
This version requires the latest Rhino 7 or 8 build, on Windows. MacOSX is not currently supported.
Network Rendering
For Network Rendering, you must use the Octane slave release from the Octane Standalone installer which matches the exact Octane version of the plugin you are using.

Known Issues
- Prior to rendering a Sun Study, Flythru Animation or Bongo Animation, you must select the Perspective Viewport in Rhino that the animation uses
