Hello,
I'm new to octane and for years I've been wanting to learn Octane render for C4D but haven't been able to cause I never had a windows with Nvidia GPU. I managed to download the latest Octane X and the standalone app seem to function alright and was able to render. However when I'm playing around in C4D, I realise the plugin was barely usable. The Material editor is always empty every time I try to edit a material, even the node editor was empty as well and the materials can't seem to be changed at all. I tried searching everywhere and couldn't figure out what's the issue at all.
Is there anyone having the same issue? Did you find any solution?

Thanks in advance! ;)

Hi Kamada,
c4doctane plugin has its own Node Editor, and you need to create an Octane material for using it.

First of all, please go to Octane Setting/Nodes, and disable the New style option, or material preview doesn't work in node editor:

Then please go to C4D material manager and create an Octane material from Octane menu:

Then, in Attribute editor go to the Basic tab and press the Node Editor button:
