Hey Paul, I've noticed when exporting to Octane standalone. In octane the Alembic file assigns all the model's names like in the attached.

I was wondering why doesn't it have the Poser figure or object names (like in the poser are hierarchy menu) in these object layers?

Thanks

Without any familiarity with Poser, the Alembic encoded information are inherently created from the 3D DCC and its Alembic implementation, which varies between software.

This page covers the data prep(-aration) for automotive CGI but is universally applicable even to VFX; demonstrated in Blender but universally applicable as long as the Alembic support is not rudimentary.

An example for efficient shading semi-automation based on nomenclature:

The plugin can rename nodes, and I think it is already doing this to the Mesh node, but not the Object Layer nodes. I will see if this is fixable in the next release.

Please see viewtopic.php?t=84694 for a potential fix for this issue.
