- all material values are reset when changing to different type eg from diffuse to glossy (very old bug, I'm not sure why it is not yet fixed)
- kernel values reset when switching between kernels (it's been reported many times)
- the Imager checkbox has unnecessary doubled descriptions. (Enable Camera Imager... / Tick to enable).
- shared surface causes error and Blender crash on a simple scene with one object

Code: Select all

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090(device 0), error message: "CUDA error (101) on device 0: invalid device ordinal -> failed to register D3D11 texture"
Last Octane engine log entries:
CUDA error (101) on device 0: invalid device ordinal
-> failed to register D3D11 texture
device 0: shared surface output failed

These will be fixed in the coming version.

We cannot reproduce this problem here. Can you share the device information(multiple GPU? device version, and so on) with us?

Actually I can't get it working even with one GPU on latest 28.9 release.

Here is the log with RTX 4090 enabled:

Code: Select all

Set up shared surface on device 0
CUDA error (400) on device 0: invalid resource handle
-> failed to map graphics texture
device 0: shared surface output failed

What's strange Octane works fine with shared surface enabled in Standalone and C4D.

The problem you had seems to be some device/driver issues. We're still taking investigations.
About using shared surface in C4D/Octane, I may miss something. But is there an option as to the "shared surface" in C4D and Octane? If so, please let me know. Thanks!

Cheers,

In C4D naming and description looks different than in Blender but names are kind of similar:

I couldn't find this in Standalone. I thought it was there but can't find this anymore.

I think the C4D option is a different one.
Can you use "win+r" and then type "dxdiag" to bring up the DirectX Diagnostic Tool. After that, click the "Save All information" and send the configuration to us?
