black screen of render view

Hi all

i have little problem
i made scene with 3,500.000 triangles

and render screen is black,or octane shut downs
but if i made same scene with less poligons octane works fine
i thing that is problem with low memory on graphic card
or maybe something else???

btw graphic card is gtx460 1gb

Yes, probably it's because of VRAM limits.

yes also i think its ram but mybe not
under MB ram used is 800.2 of 993
there is about 200mb free

Hi,

Are you running a 32bit or 64bit OS, and which one ?
Normally you would get a memory error if you try to load too much triangles into a 32bit version, but not a black screen.

Are you sure the camera is'nt lodged somewhere in an enclosed area ?

i use x64bit on win 7
and graphic card is gtx460 1gb

iam working something for competition and today i try 3 hours to figure where i mistake, and i didnt make it
scene its about 2 mil triangles + textures (in octane under MB ram used is 780 of 993)
and screen is black,time go, octane work but whole pic is black

i use c4d 11.5 and octane demo and octane plugin for c4d for export scene

As said, i think you're running out of memory, sometimes you're OS uses additional VRAM and as a result there's not enough for octane.
maybe try first with loading no textures, then keep adding them until the viewport turns black, and optimizing them a bit (rescale your textures)
