Some time ago and tried and then removed the Octane addon for Blender (had a lot of issues with it). I removed it according to instructions I received from this post:
viewtopic.php?f=32&t=81920&p=425889#p425889
However, I am continuing to get default Blender Environment and Material nodes whenever I start Blender on a new Eevee or Cycles project. See attached screenshot.
I looked through all my addon folders, both locally where my 3.6.1 version of Blender is installed, as well as in the Blender Foundation scripts folders found in AppData/Roaming directory. I can see no file or folders named Octane in any of these. Why am I still getting these Octane nodes?
FYI I don’t want to update to Blender 3.6.5 or 4.0 till I resolve this issue.
Octane nodes appear in Blender even though addon deleted

You probably have saved a startup file with Octane nodes in it. As the nodes are red, the addon is not active. Just remove those nodes and save the startup file again (File->Defaults->Save Startup File).
That did it. Thanks!
