I'm noticing a strange crash that is happening when the Octane Qt5 IPR panel is part of my desktop.
Open a blank Houdini scene
Any desktop
Click the plus to add a new tab to an existing pane > New Tab Type > Octane Qt5 IPR
Try and close Houdini
Should see the "Send crash report" dialog box.
I can repeatedly get the crash report dialog when I do this, as can my colleague. If the panel is floating, there doesn't seem to be a crash.

Thanks Adrian, is that in H20? Which OS?adrianr wrote:I'm noticing a strange crash that is happening when the Octane Qt5 IPR panel is part of my desktop.

AI upscaling doesn't work when saving into EXR format (linear sRGB) because the model was trained on sRGB data. It's the expected behaviour.lavrenovlad wrote:Rendering out 16bit exr in ACEScg, are you sure it's working on your end?
Maybe you could send me your result saved from the IPR and from the disk to compare?
Yeah H20. Can replicate the crash in Win10 and 11 on two separate machines.ricky_otoy wrote:Thanks Adrian, is that in H20? Which OS?adrianr wrote:I'm noticing a strange crash that is happening when the Octane Qt5 IPR panel is part of my desktop.

Okay, not a big loss anyway. At least it's working in the IPRPDivision1 wrote:AI upscaling doesn't work when saving into EXR format (linear sRGB) because the model was trained on sRGB data. Can confirm that there is something wrong with this build. I switched to 2023.1.0.0 and rendering the same ROPs in a chain without crashes now.

Hi there, is there a crash message, dialog box or anything? Are you using Deadline too?lavrenovlad wrote:Can confirm that there is something wrong with this build. I switched to 2023.1.0.0 and rendering the same ROPs in a chain without crashes now.
There should be a new build which should be out today/tomorrow which should change for an issue regarding Deadline and ROPs filename reverting to PNG.

Sorry I was in a rush and didn't think about bug reports so I didn't screenshot them.ricky_otoy wrote:Hi there, is there a crash message, dialog box or anything? I rendered in Houdini and I got a couple of errors, first one was some kind of short line, after it popped up everything froze and didn't render, the timer was running like it was still in process but it was stuck. I think it "ran" for 1-2 hours until I noticed it.
Another one was that I had 3 ROPs and rendered them via merge node, and it did render 1 or 2 ROPs but then stopped and didn't render the last one or something.
