Otoy® is proud to announce the availability of a new OctaneRender™ for Maya®
The world's fastest and most feature-rich unbiased render engine that integrates completely into Autodesk® Maya®.

Maya® Version Requirements

This release will work with Maya® Versions 2019, 2020, 2022, 2023 and 2024 64-bit on Windows, MacOS and Linux systems.

Changelog and the installers for Octane Standalone are here:
OctaneRender Standalone

Important: if using macOS, we strongly recommend that you update to version 13.3. Prior to 13.3, there is an OS related issue that causes a render failure consistently if you render for long periods of time.

Changes since version 22.7:
  • Improved the ORBX "alembic embedded" export functionality.
  • MacOS m1/m2 now can be loaded without Rosetta.
NOTE: Directional light in current 2023.1 Standalone is not affected by its parent transform rotation at all. This is why you can only rotate this light in Maya by a transform node connected to this light-node's "Transform" plug. At least for current Octane engine version...

NOTE: Don't forget to use the %p tag where you need the AOV-name to appear in the output path. I've found out that this has not been mentioned in the plugin manual, but it's going to be better described soon...

Hi G0ll4m,

Thank you for the post.
Would you please let us know which Maya version was selected?

please try this latest build, same link as above. It has a nice fix that exports orbx with specified frames.

hi there

quick question from Facebook group:
Does anyone know how to make octane update constantly in IPR, even on camera navigation movement? For me in Maya, it only updates when I let go of the mouse, but is there a way for it to update while I'm moving?

Octane is only updated by Maya in IPR after all changes are finished. If you need constant update - please use Octane viewport renderer mode, it updates all the time but because of this uses much more resources both CPU and GPU.

I restarted my computer and 2023 installed fine, then if I have 2023 22.7 installed, and I then try to install 2021 1.4 20.16, it gives the same error.

Just tested again, I restarted and was only then able to re-install 2021 1.4 20.16. I'm unable to switch from 2021 to 2023 versions unless I restart my machine every time. Possibly during the extraction process? Can you guys test on your end?
