I create a diffuse object using shadow catcher, upon activating shadow catcher it behaves like an invisible object instead of catching the shadows and letting light pass through. This messes up the lighting setup.
I also turned on Affect Alpha in the render settings but no luck. What changed?

What lights are you using? The Shadow Catcher does not work with Environmental lights.

Oh that's the problem then. Is there any way to make it work or is support coming by any chance?
When I only use lights, they still penetrate through the shadow catcher instead of just rendering the shadow. So the light isn't blocked. Is that intentional?

You can try using the Shadow AOV. If that doesn't work for you, file a support ticket: [email protected]
