Aoktar, please see attached simple scene and look on object user data slider. It doesn't update in realtime. It works fine in previous Cinema 4D versions but not in 2024.

Yes, that is what I'm seeing as well. I was wondering why some old scenes would open, and others could crash C4D. I'll just use C4D 2023 for now.

Or don't upgrade your 2024 to 2024.1 until it's fixed

Hi @aoktar,

Would it be possible to share a scene which shows the difference in speed between primitive & analytic lights? I did a few tests and I don't see any increase in speed (the primitives are actually faster in cleaning the noise) which probably means I'm missing something. Also, is it possible to change the shapes & colours of the lens flare?

Seems to be an issue with Analytic lights from the last beta version to this new one.
Exact same scene and settings but the latest version produces a lot more noise and less light in the scene.

Top image is from the beta release and the bottom from the new stable release.

hi
I'm having an issue when I view through Analytic lights and use the shortcut or go back to the default camera c4d crashes immediately.
here is the record of the issue.

using this version of octane.
c4d 2023.2.2
Nvidia 4090 driver version 537.42

Ok this is the third time I'm writing this comment, I don't know why I keep getting logged out everytime I press "submit"

First off thank you Aoktar!

My issue is that whenever I drag an image file from the file explorer onto an ImageTexture node it doesn't replace the image file in it, it just creates a new ImageTexture node. This happened with the latest 2022 update as well, but no before that. Hope this can be fixed cuz it's a crucial feature. Thanks!

Nice to hear somebody is aware of this feature. I thought that may be about PBR update. I've checked it's working on me. Can you share a video to show how it's doing?

I'm aware of your posts, thanks to you for the scene. I'll give attention for that but you need to wait a little. We have several new problems with Maxon's 2024 updates.

Oh I use it all the time, it's common that I need to create several versions of a material with different image files so manually renaming can be a mess.

As you can see in the video, the first time I drag it actually worked which caught me off guard, I thought MAYBE it's because I had the ImageTexture node highlighted before dragging (didn't use to matter), so I tried again, but then it stopped working, no matter if node is selected or not. Then at some point it starts to glitch out even and add a bunch of nodes including a random Displacement node. I have a feeling this might be tied to some new feature that automatically sets up PBR materials from a set of image files?
I kept trying more after the recording ended and it keeps glitching out like that, and will then randomly work. I don't seem to find a pattern of why.
