Happy GPU rendering!

Do we have the ability YET to do cross platform rendering from the Mac to a PC slave render node?

Hi,
Is Octane X ready for tomorrow's macOS Sonoma update for Apple Silicon Mac devices?
We would all prefer to know before we update our systems :)

I think they said cross platform rendering will come in 2022.2. Whether it's the long promised 'headless' rendering in the live viewer rather than just network rendering for final image output remains to be seen.

Hi all,

if you want to use OctaneX, please avoid to upgrade to macOS Sonoma for now!

The devs are working on a new Standalone/SDK version with Sonoma support, and it will be published in the coming days.
Plugins will follow asap.

The Hair issue in C4D 2024 has been fixed in c4doctane 2022.1.2-R4 stable version:

Cross platform Network rendering has been postponed to upcoming 2023.2 SDK:

P.S. no news for C4D-OctaneX-PR15 AMD for now, sorry.

Beppe

Hey Beppe, thanks for the clarification, looking forward to 2023.2!

But can you confirm that it will be the 'headless rendering' we've been promised? i.e. I can use a Mac as a front end, connected to my PC with nvidia cards, and have all that power available in the live viewer?

@GPerrone: OctaneX for iPad is broken only due to iPadOS 17 update, it is working correctly with iPadOS 16, anyway, a new version supporting iPadOS 17 is on the go, and will be published on App Store asap.

@mitchino: we need to wait for first 2023.2 Alpha version to see what the devs have been able to implement.

ciao,
Beppe

Nice a 2023 beta build!

Any chance current production builds will get updated soon for Ventura?

It's a long time to wait for a new version of Octane X C4D that supports macOS Sonoma, far too long...
