I'm told Octane has a Fire/Smoke feature, are there videos?

I'm told that Octane has a new Fire/Smoke system for 2023 in Cinema4D, but I don't see any resources anywhere on this? What am I missing? I made this with TurbulanceFD a few years ago and want to transition out of that Plugin to effectively make the exact same thing for a newer engine: https://youtu.be/kMCfZL9HgSk?t=286

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I'm guessing you are referring to EmberGen that comes bundled with your Octane subscription. It's not directly integrated currently, but as I understand it, that's the plan. EmberGen is pretty amazing, and not difficult to import the resulting sim data into C4D. They have two different renderers, however, so that doesn't directly transfer. I'm hoping for a nice "export for Octane" button at some point that does a reasonable job of approximating the look from EmberGgen inside Octane, at least as a starting point.

You can use C4D Pyro directly with Octane as well. You do NOT need to output a VDB file, unless you are sending to Standalone or The Render Network. I am including a graphic that shows where to put the appropriate tags. In this example, there is a cannon ball firing from an old pirate cannon. The sphere object is used as the emitter, and the actual cannon ball is used as a collider to displace the smoke.

This image shows how to set up the Octane Object tag for the Pyro emitter. Use it with the Standard Volume:

Hope this helps!

Thanks, Jay. I totally forgot about Pyro. I still haven't spent the time to explore it, but EJ Hassenfratz put out a nice video a few months ago.
