any word on when this fix will be in place?
I have a project for school that I need rendered by next week and I would rather not sit and manually texture and save each frame manually for 194 frames....
I have also tried moving back to version 2.3 but that didn't work for me..
funny thing is, the only setting that seems to save and load into octane is the sun direction...
Do you have any recommendations on what I could do in the meantime to get my textures to render? Its a fairly simple scene and nothing complex for textures, so anything really to get it rendered and looking alright.
I need to get it comped into nuke with my other clips so I can finish everything else...
Thanks,
~Ben
Emmisive Settings not being saved for animation renders

dont know how to help u my friend coz like i checked same thing is happening even if u use max or xsi, so its not a exporter probl and for now the only solutions is to wait for new ver...
i think i have some work around, for camera animation...
- export scene from maya
- go to octane
- tweak ur scene, shaders lights, etc, save scene
- go back to maya, turn on the camera check box
- hit render animation and u should have settings as u saw in octane
cheers

So hit the camera only check box, and that fixes the problem with the texture settings not staying?bazuka wrote:dont know how to help u my friend coz like i checked same thing is happening even if u use max or xsi, so its not a exporter probl and for now the only solutions is to wait for new ver...

It seems to solve the problem with the texture settings not staying... but now my animation isn't doing anything... because its only updating the camera... its not sending the new object position..
Any ideas?

I guess I should ask, if you can get the camera to export, can the script be reworked to export the updated scene but not update or chance the MTL file?
From what I have been reading on the other forum pages is that the file get updated by script and octane looks at that file for textures and not is own project file...
That's what the "bug" is right now.. right?
Does anyone know if the texture settings still work using older versions of octane?

It is probably too late to point this out, but I think if you change the file to read-only in Windows (right click on file > Properties > Check Read-Only, or right click on file > Properties > Permissions > and change the permissions to be read-only for all users) you can prevent it from overwriting the .mtl file.
This will of course break animated materials.
