Hello everyone,

I'm having some problems with my latest project, I'm using the latest version of Octane and Cinema 4D R2023.

In my scene I have a VDB Fire, but in my final render (Denoised beauty) I get some weird artifacts on the out of focus VDB, but only in the final image and not on the live viewer.
I've attachen an image comparison between the final render and the live viewer. I'm exporting Octane EXR using ACESsg, Denoise volumes active, Path tracing.

I've tryed everything, but I can get rid of those artifacts, please help me.

Thank you very much for your support.

Nik

Hi Nik,
this is not expected, can you share a screenshot from Render Settings/OctaneRender/main tab, and Render AOV group tab?

ciao,
Beppe

Thanks for sharing the screenshots.

Since Denoiser is saved in a separated AOV pass, could you also share a screenshot from Picture Viewer, Layer tab, to check if Denoided beauty pass is correct or not?

Not related to the issue, but, you should always keep the Denoise on completion option enabled, or the rendering time is longer, since denoiser is calculated at each max samples interval.

Ciao Beppe,

Thanx for the tip of "denoise on completion", I thought that option was only related to the live viewer.

I've attached the screenshot.

Thanx

Ok, thanks.

if you select the Pass-Singolo option, is it still noisy?

what happens if you disable the Overwrite Kernel Settings option in Render Settings/OctaneRender/ tab?

Ok, can you share the scene with me?

If yes, please reduce it at minimum, then save the project with assets, compress the resulting folder, and share it with me via Private Message, thanks.

ciao,
Beppe
