H. Whenever i want to rename an object WHILE the live viewer is active, C4D completely freezes. No bug reports, no errors. Just a dead freeze as soon as i rename and hit enter.
I think i have narrowed down the issue and it has to do with me docking octane into my layout. I have tried to completely remove C4D preferences folder and start over. With default layout everything is normal. But when i start docking octane elements and slowly rebuild my layout, at some point the issue come back. I found that if i pause the live viewer, stop and reset data, then go to rename an object - it works. I fire up live viewer back up and continue. Sometimes typing in gibberish works, but actual words cause a crash. I cant work like this, it's ridiculous.
A few months ago i upgraded from R21 and ever since 2023.0.0 i have had this issue, tested with multiple versions of octane. Been stuck on R21 since. I have not tried other C4D releases.

Recording of the issue:
In my testing i have mostly been trying to rename a light to "x_highlight", but renaming any object kills it.
I hope you'll be able to reproduce the error

I'm looking to it, I suppose something changed in C4D side and bugging us. It's happening on dual layouts as I can see. Hold on....

It's happening if you have "Project Asset Manager". I don't know the reason yet, but I'll test it more.GiWest wrote:Still freezes unfortunately

Confirmed. Updated my layouts no longer include the Project Asset Manager and zero crashes.

I've had this issue for the past few days in 2023.2.0. I only noticed it recently since I primary use S24. From my tests, it looked like the problem happened after Octane was initialized, be it from opening and closing the Live Viewer without rendering, or simply creating an Octane material without assigning it to anything.
Removing the Project Asset Inspector from my layout immediately solved the issue.
