I'm trying to revive an old project from R21, that uses Xparticles. Xparticles can be seen in the viewport, but can't get any particles to render in the latest Octane Render 2022.1[R3]
Even a simple scene with one emitter, light, I can't render the Xparticles. Is this a known issue with this far back, or anything else I can try? I don't have an active maintenance for Xparticles so I'm limited to using R21.

I noticed that RefShader doesn't work inside Scatter nodes. It correctly import values from reference noise node from another Octane Scatter object but unfortunately it do nothing - just like disconnected from node network :
Also vertex maps doesn't work in Scatter nodes too.
I see that Scatter colors works better than before because they are not disturbed by effectors color until effector has active effector color in its color mode - this is great, thank you !

First example of refshader - Scatter 2 has connected distribution noise using RefShader from Scatter 1 but it doesn't work. C4D Gradient node probably can't be connected to RefShader :aoktar wrote:

Your sentence is not fully correct because it works with old vertexmaps. But field+vertexmap is a bit different to catch the data and it's not yet supported in scatter. This support has been added for materials recently.SSmolak wrote:

Yes here it works perfectly as always but it works little different than distribution map of individual clones. It works here like overall clones limiter which is good but not the same like noises from Scatter shader input. This is why I tried to connect vertex to distribution input in Scatter nodes.aoktar wrote: it works, change the "limit".
