Changes since version 20.20:
  • Minor bug fixes...

I've had no luck with Maya Octane 1.6.20.20 or...20.21 on Maya 2023.2.

Does this sound normal?

Hi Hgarrou,

Thanks for the post. Would you please check the Bifrost version from Plugin Manager?
Press the (i) info button. Autodesk have made huge changes with Bifrost on Maya 2023.2 update.
So OFM v20.20 or v20.21 won't be compatible if it is v2.5.

A workaround is to Uninstall from the Control panel and install the Bifrost 2.4 or revert back to Maya 2023.1 update.
Let us know how it goes!

Cheers

Thanks bk.

I suspected that was the reason.
Yes, I had bifrost 2.5.

And rolling back maya worked like a charm.

Some Windows installer-files appeared to be corrupt, so I've re-uploaded and replaced the download-links. If you had troubles when installing the plugin, just re-download the installer and try to install again.

Hi JimStar

Any chance of updating for use with latest BiFrost 2.5.x? the API changes that Autodesk introduced in 2.5.x are mainly type changes which they claim are backward compatible, which isn't really true, one plugin wasn't working because of the type change from Amino::object to object. but making that change resolved the issue without a problem (https://help.autodesk.com/view/BIFROST/ ... 5_0_0_html). The 2.5.x release is a strong one and useful. Having to roll back to 2.4 whenever using Octane is not ideal!!!

Thank you

Hi Ironic3d,

Thanks for the post.
We are actually concerned implementing Bifrost 2.5 would break our current Stable branch!

So, we plan to add Bifrost 2.5 support in the next 2022.1 XB4-21.10 branch release.

cheers
Kind Regards
