Hi,
I can't understand how to give FP objects a render layer ID pass.
In old times FP was always 1... not fun but ok.
Now my Fp was in layer 2... and I didn't know why ? because all elements was 1...
I select all scene objects and set to layer 1, ok now it is 1, but I don't know whaty I did...
Any clue ?

Hi Paride.
Here is a simple scene :
- a plane with Render Layer ID 1
- a teapot with ID 2
- a Forest Pack object with ID 2
I would like to have Fp object in green in the Render Layer id pass.... but no.

Hi, I use lastest octane render version now (2021.1.5_-_12.22) and if I want to change Render layer ID of forest pack objects , I need to change RL ID of Forest Pack object itself ( not its objects in Geometry tab )

Hi HHbomb,
That's strange, I also can't reproduce the issue.
Your scene works fine for me too; I get the FP teapots in green, layer ID 2..
Could you try this scene : I just added the Render layer ID pass, and set the teapot layer ID to 3
If you just open the Octane viewport and set the current pass to Render layer ID, you should get this: Note that in Render settings / Support / Forest pack, the 'Use layer from FP object' is enabled, so it will use the layer ID from Forest001 (layer ID 2).
You could try to disable it, to check that it takes the ID from the referenced object as expected (Teapot001, layer ID 3)
The issue could come from some of the Octane Preference settings, but I couldn't find one that would do this..
Could you try Preferences / menu Preset : Reset Default settings ?
I tested with Forest pack 6.3.1 and 7.4.1.. what version do you use ?

I use OR 2021.1.5.12.22 now.
I reset default settings of Octane preferences. Now it works fine.... What was the problem is now a mystery...
