Hey There,

I wanted to let you know that I'm using Octane version 2021.4-(R4) and having problems with the Custom AOVs showing my VDB that isn't assigned. It appears in Primary Rays, reflection, refractions, and combined Reflection/refractions.

Is this a bug?

Cheers,
Dean

Hi,
everything seems to work as expected here with volumes and Custom AOVs:

Please go to Volume/Octane Object tag/Object Layer tab, and check to have the Custom AOV popup set to None, or to a different Custom AOV number than the heart.

ciao,
Beppe

Thanks for your reply Beppe.

I had done what you said already but the problem is there.

I do have my cama crushed to .4 on 'Linear' and exposure to 2.2 which may be the reason.

I've also had other problems but have had time to report them.

1. Volumes still have overlapping issues when intersecting. And I have the 'max overlap volumes' setting up high. Even happens with two.
2. There is currently no way of turning off a' visible light' in the medium tab in the sun settings.

Cheers,
D

Hi,
about Custom AOVs and Volumes, please make sure to work with latest 2021.1.5-R2.
If not enough, please share the scene with me, even via Private Message.

About overlapping Volumes, it shouldn't be plugin related, please export in .orbx format, and share it in the latest Standalone 2021.1.5 discussion here:

About 'turning off a' visible light' in the medium tab in the sun settings', sorry the issue is not clear, can you share some screenshots?

ciao,
Beppe
