@bepeg4d: thanx for the info.
But it does not help me. If I run C4D R25 in Rosetta, it will crash because the Insydium plugins won't run in Rosetta.
Quite a pain to set up a flexible workflow...
So I guess I will stick to Redshift on my Macbook Pro M1 MAX.

Unfortunately yes, you should need to have two versions of C4D installed, one for native plugins like RedShift/X-particles, and another one in Rosetta mode for c4doctaneX and any other plugin not in native mode for M1 chip.

@Beppe thanks for all the answers! Looking forward to trying it again. When do we expect Octane plugin to work natively for M1? Thanks so much

You are welcome :)

We are expecting to have the first M1 native version for plugins with the upcoming new 2022.1 SDK:

bepeg4d wrote:@3dworks: please note that AMD 580 is a Polaris GPU, but AMD Polaris and Intel GPUs are not supported anymore in new OctaneX PR12/13 for macOS 12 Monterey - there were some Apple Metal driver related issues.

So you need to stay with Big Sur and OctaneX PR11.

The R25 build works well in R26 with AMD GPUs, thanks Ahmet :)

Unfortunately this solution doesn't work with Apple Silicon M1 :(
If Rosetta mode is enabled, R26 crashes at startup, after click "reopen", plugin is not loaded.

We need to wait for the upcoming 2022.1 SDK, to have R26 on M1 :roll:
