Hi,
OctaneX PR14 works in Rosetta mode with M1 chip only with plugins.

Standalone PR14 is already native, please try with this version here for macOS Monterey:
https://render.otoy.com/downloads/a2/d0 ... ctaneX.dmg

About plugins, we need to wait for the upcoming 2022.1 SDK:

Hi snahbah,

C4D-OctaneX-Enterprise-PR14 is correctly available in the Downloads server:

Maybe you have a special Enterprise MacPro license, in this case, you need to download PR14 from the following link:

Hi!
I just downloaded the updated Blender build for macOS Monterey, and I found an issue with selecting objects in the viewport. The selection happens at an offset from where the mouse cursor is (i.e: I have to go an inch below where the object is on my screen and click there to select it). I tried resetting everything and using a bone stock version of the build, same result. Any idea where that would come from?

Thanks

Hi,

It depends from the GPU inside your Mac, if it is an AMD Polaris (400/500 series), or Intel GPU, they are no more supported anymore by Apple Metal driver in macOS 12 Monterey for GPU rendering, so OctaneX PR12/13/14 cannot use them, and you need to go back to macOS 11.6 Big Sur with OctaneX PR11.

Hey yall :) I've been a long time user of Octane X and even a reader of this thread, but I haven't really contributed because my permissions weren't available and I didn't feel like taking the time to mention anything to OTOY. But I went ahead and had it fixed recently, so just wanted to share my GPU benchmark on my Mac Pro with you guys.

As a heads up, I run a 2019 28-core Mac Pro with two w6800x DUO GPU's, essentially four w6800x GPU's. And my score is within proper scaling. It's essentially equivalent to a Puget System running two RTX 3090's. The score is :4 seconds. Here's a screenshot.

This machine is simply a monster when it comes to GPU rendering and I have thought on the M1 Ultra if you care to hear them. Let me know if you do, if not, I won't bore you with my opinion on the future of the 2019 Mac Pro as well as the M-Series Mac Pro releasing this winter and beyond.

And I guess I should add the recommended Octane Benchmark target, in which case the score is :01 second flat. :)
