New update is up!
2021.1-(R5) plugin revisions
- Improvements in Render Aov Manager. Added the saving/loading the presets.
- Added: Orbx export mode to render settings. It's an alternative way to export scene as ORBX and it maybe more accurate for some cases.
- Fix: Disable the hair control objects for rendering
- Fix: Revisions on render AOV group system
- Export dialog revisions

I doubt this is plugin related, but I am posting here because I do not have the time right now to D/L Standalone & investigate. I am noticing some pretty major changes in lighting (highlights/reflections) between 2020 & 2021. I have already reinstalled 2020 while I complete this job. But just wanted to put it on your radar.
No changes in settings other than updating Passes/AOVs to 2021.
Denoised Beauty
AI light [on]
It only appears that only 1 light that it effected, and that light does have an image texture (EXR) with Use Primitives [on]. I didn't think to check to see if the image gamma was adjusted when opening with 2021.1, but it was set to 1 in 2020.X.

weird, can you share with me a scene via PM, with only the bullets, lights, and necessary assets?

Hi Ahmet,
I have been having issues with the past few releases related to network rendering I believe. My renders will often get stuck at 99% when using a render node attached on a 10gig connection. The timer continues to count, but no samples are finished, and I can hear the GPU's ramp down. Host computer is 2 - 3090, node computer is 3 - 3090.

Hi
The release posts all say "No driver updates are required for macOS 10.13 (CUDA)"
But there's no Mac version so why would you write that?
We've got less than 2 weeks remaining in 2021, are we going to see a Mac version of Octane2021 before it's 2022? And then will we see a 2022 version?
I didn't subscribe for a year to be a year behind.
I know that sounds grumpy but in mid-December I think this is a fair question? 2021 for Mac, when please?
On that note what IS the newest version for Mac, and are we supposed to figure that out just clicking every release post back in time until we find one with Mac links?
(not talking about M1s or Octane X for new Macs).
Thanks

it's not necessary in reality but having too much work that's causing me to spend small time to check these.northalex78 wrote:Hi

We are waiting the completition for PRxx versions. Then we are expecting a 2022 based Mac build. But I don't have any timeline because it's not my job. You may ask to Otoy devs.

Hi northalex78,
sorry but there is not a 2021.1 SDK version for Mac CUDA.
The latest version you can use on Mac CUDA is 2020.2.5.
Nvidia has stopped to support CUDA under Mac from too many years now, so it was no more possible to continue to support a version for macOS 10.13.6 High Sierra.
The OctaneRender support for Mac can continue only via OctaneX Metal version.
With the upcoming 2022.1 SDK, both CUDA and Metal version will be on the same page.
ciao,
Beppe

I just saw they pushed out an update, and saw this note. I'm curious if this is the problem we are having.
