I am using C4D R23 with Octane, I have multiple objects inside a cloner with hair applied to each of them. The cloner is set as Linear and set to only show 1 object at a time.
When viewed through the Octane Live Viewer I can see all hair modules erroneously displayed at once, when there is actually only 1 visible in the C4D viewport.
If I change all hair modules to Generate > Circle then only 1 module is visible but with all colour removed.
If I convert all hair modules to an Object and delete all the original hair then only 1 module is visible. I woud ideally retain all original hair splines though.
I've attached a sample project file to better explain the issue.
If anyone has any ideas on how to overcome this, they'd be very welcome! I have a deadline fast approaching and can't move forward until this is resolved.
Thanks, any advice appreciated.

But it's collecting the source data as you can see. It's not working as other type of objects since we haven't thought to assume somebody would to use it like this.

Ok but then it will not a Octane hair type, will be geometry. Be carreful to don't avoid to explode the renderer with a lot of triangles. Btw I'm fixing the issue for 2021.1 build, you can get a test build if you wish.CalTrago wrote:Ok, no problem. I just realised I can set the Generate Type to 'Circle' and then apply an Octane Hair Material to it to add the colour back in, whilst using the original hair material to style the hair with thickness, kink & scale.
Thanks

It's a heavy and slow way also. What's license type? I can only give you 2021.1 builds.CalTrago wrote:A test build would be great. Thanks. I'll check the triangles on the project as it is now. This method seems to be working well for now but a cleaner way would be helpful.
