Hi guys,
just checking if anyone has the same issue as mine.
It's been a little while that the Solo node just makes Octane (and Cinema 4D) crash.
Whenever I activate a solo node, almost instantly it will crash.
The only time it doesn't crash may be is when it's a super simple material with a couple nodes,
but even then if I add a gradient and solo the gradient, boom it will crash.
I'm running R25 + 2020.2.5-R3
But it was similar in S24 + previous versions.
I got a RTX2080ti + RTX3090 in my PC.
Has anyone encountered the same behaviour on the solo node ?
Solo Node crashing constantly

hey Ahmet,
here is a screengrab of the crash.
So that was just me opening the project, soloing one node (Octane gradient node) and undo the solo (with the D hotkey).
And boom, crash.
And I attached the bug report as well

I just wanted to confirm I'm experiencing the same issue (I've been in contact with support for a couple of days, and wanted to follow up here as well). Soloing nodes is always a crash gamble with octane render. Specially if there's displacement involved.
Guys, please send a scene which causes the crash and exact steps you made to cause the crashes. So you'll really help.

Sent the scene via the support page. The bug is now fixed in latest 2021.1-R2. Finally it's working, this is awesome!
It was because of node previews and mostly with heavy materials. For example when a displacement used. In short, I suppose that's fixed by my 2021.1-R2 revisions. This topic helped that to reproduce, and reports are important to know the issues.alvaromartinlop wrote:Sent the scene via the support page. The bug is now fixed in latest 2021.1-R2.
