Thank you ahmet for the hard work, currently there is One more annoying bug remaining in the latest stable build.
I created a simple scene to demonstrate this problem, attachment below.
When exporting beauty with Render passes enabled, especially with Z-depth turned on. The output image in C4D picture viewer is desaturated and its gamma is way off comparing with Live viewer.
The settings are shown in picture 1 and 2. The result shown in 3.
Am I setting stuff wrong? Octane doesnt have this problem before.
As you may see, here is the tricky part, after each frame rendered, the final result of rendered beauty sometimes is correct (same as live viewer) But sometimes the rendered image file is just messed up picture viewer shown!
And here is the worst thing, the Octane will constantly crash rendering heavy scene with animation and Z-depth turned on for some reason. Disable Render passes render completely, problem solved. I think there is definitely something going on with the newest implement Aov system has to do with it right? How to make my Octane not crash?
Thank you!

Thank you!
Hi,
try to disable the Color Profile in Picture Viewer/View menu: and avoid to save from C4D Save panel, and use the Octane Multi Pass tab instead.
ciao Beppe

Cheers mate ! Yes I use octane render passes panel to save passes no problem. Do you mean I should use that tab to save Beauty or final render from that tab as well? and leave everything blank in the normal C4D save panel?bepeg4d wrote:Hi,

Yes, in Multi pass mode, avoid to use the C4D Save panel, and save also the Beauty pass from Octane Multi Pass tab.
In this way, all the passes will have the same coloring treatment.

Hi is there any update on those things? thanksthanulee wrote:Hi,
2020.2.4 is great. But can we please fix the xp trail object and the group functions in Xparticles? These are fundamental functions when working with XP and in Redshift they work just fine.
I have a very basic setup and it breaks all the time. I will walk you through in case you are not familiar with all xp functions:
XP Groups:
- I have a single emitter with 2 objects. 2 groups assigned to that single emitter. Via those groups I can define if I want more of object A or more from object B.
This change does not reflect in octane object tag. It keeps assigning randomly the objects A and B.
It is best to define the ratio via the groups of XP and not in other way, cause when I try to push this setup further everything breaks.
In this specific case i can cheat with 2 emitters and ignore groups, but its not a solution. There are many times when using dynamics where using multiple emitters in a setup is not possible.
XP trails:
- It works only with the most basic operation. Eg. if i add a displacer/trail deformer the color of the trail is lost.
Please let me know when we can fix those cause I have to switch to Redshift for such basic setups.
XP API is provided and if these functionalities are missing, we could reach out to Insydium. If not, its a matter of implementation. I feel like im fighting with Octane many times instead of just move forward and focus on art directing setups/particles.
Many thanks!
