Hello,

Since I'm doing a 500 Frame animation in the new v5.
I was wondering what is the highest GPU temp you've reached while rendering in octane.

I remember when i just had my 285, i was rendering something and it reached 80C.
that was before i knew about fan control and i could control my case fans lol.
now it is at 40C ideal and 60C when rendering.

My 480 runs at 48-50 Ideal and the highest temp was around 85 Degrees.
But again now with all of my fan control i now get a 75 while rendering.

So what is your highest readings?

Thanks,
Radiant

Well, due to a problem with former version of EVGA Precision and ASUS SmartDoctor not compatible with Win 7, one of my two new GTX 480 reached 101°C for a short time just after installing the cards in my Cubix box.

After I installed the most recent EVGA Precision version, I got maxi 83°C on the warmest card with 25°C ambient in the room. The second card was 6°C below.

My most recent renders with 23°C ambient gave 71°C and 77°C for the two cards.

Fans speed is oscillating between 70 and 80% using the "Smart Cooling" feature with standard response curve in auto mode.

@radiant : enough fans, but not enough space between the two graphic cards imho. So one of the cards doesn't receive much fresh air, and is 6°C warmer than the other one.

105 degrees C on the 480.
The card makes the most awfull sounds then. The fan goes crazy then goes silent...
Then it's time to put the fan in the 90s

try and trade/sell your 480 with the 580 its the same price and it is as silent has the 285.
its pretty much how the 480 should have been like

97°c on my 470, wich is why, quite rare, I came to sell it and buy the 460.

Maybe I could have tweaked it and got some ° down, but the card pcb being 'open' the fan directed all the heat on the cpu right behind, then the whole pc temperature would rise wich I did not like much.... :)

Don't know who had the great idea of 'opening' the 470 pcb but it's not that great :/
