Hi guys,

Do you know what would be the best way to achieve something similar to the C4D's original Outlines and Contour lines in the Sketch&Toon effect? I've tried to mess around with the Round Edges in Octane's Toon Material, hoping that would do something but no luck : ) Basically I would like every edge to be ,,colored'', and be able to change the lines' thickness.

Any ideas?

Thanks !

Not quite possible even with the current 2021 preview.
I will let the developer explain what is going on with Anime kernel that was promised years ago.

Here's a semi-decent solution that I think I picked up on the Live DB a couple of years ago. You use a Falloff node for the outline, and a Dirt shader for the interior lines. Run both of them through a Comparison node to make sure you get clean, black and white lines, then multiply them together. Then render using Info Channels or Render Passes to extract the diffuse info without any lighting info. Or in some instances, you can use the results as both the Diffuse and Emissive Texture.

It's also possible to mix this over a normal Toon material to add the toon gradient to the lines.
