I have made a simple TFD test, and rendered with Physical Render:

But when I attempt to achieve the same render in Octane (adding the Octane tag to the TFD Container), I get this weird glitch:

Am I missing something obvious?

Using PR11 on Big Sur

Thanks

Hi,
pay attention to start with a Black color in the Emission Volume Ramp:

Hi Beppe,

Thanks for replying, unfortunately that had no affect:

Did you check it with different versions of C4D and with older TFD plugins?
See picture, there's some compatibility problem with the voxel data, it's up to TFD plugin.

Hi,
you need to change the Absorption/Scattering channel to Temperature, now it is set to Density.
And change the Absorption and Scattering color from Black to White:

I didn't actually, it's my first time using TFD so I don't have any previous versions

After a lot of trial and error I think I'm getting closer to finding the cause. The problem seems to be with the building of the cache, as other (.bcf) cache files load in fine.

Before building, on the TFD Emitter Tag>Channels - You have to make sure Density Value is not 0:
Density value
Density value
Then on TurbulenceFD Container>Simulation>Density Check active:
TurbulenceFD Container>Simulation>Density
TurbulenceFD Container>Simulation>Density
This is all before building the cache.

It still feels like something is not right though, seem's bit buggy to say the least

What Beppe says that's true. I forgot to use it since I didn't touch that for a long time.

In your TFD sim, the Density channel is not calculated, so cannot be used in Absorption/Scattering, and you need to use the Temperature instead:
