Hi Guys,
I have a question about overlaying a material on a group of objects. I wonder if its possible or if there is a work around for my scene?
ABOUT MY SCENE:
I am building an underwater scene, which has coral reefs made of different objects (some animated). They are all grouped in a Null Object.
What I want to do is to keep each object's material, while adding a universal texture on top to the Null Group to achieve Caustics effect.
In that case, I expected the material which is placed on the null object to work on top of each object's material. It didn't work, I'm sure there is a technical explanation to it, But if you can provide me a better solution I would be happy to hear it!
NOTE: I don't really want to use ''connect objects'' command. I know it preserves materials while connecting them into one object. But I want to have control over each object, also I am animating them individually.
Thanks in Advance!

Hi,
probably the easiest way is to project your caustics with a light:
viewtopic.php?f=30&t=56820&p=291631&hil ... or#p291631
Here is an example frame made with this technique: ciao Beppe

That is a perfect solution for my scene! Thanks!
