Hello,
I have a strange issue.
Octane in Blender only seems to render the first frame repeatedly.
The animation plays fine in the viewport if I step through the frames, but when I render an animation sequence, it's just the first frame without any animation.
In the Render Output window, it shows that it's rendering through each frame, but the animation isn't visible.
This happens with any scene I create. If I switch the Render Engine back to cycles, the animation renders fine.
Any clues as to what I'm doing wrong?
Thanks
(SOLVED) Animation sequence renders first frame only.
In doing some further tests I seem to have narrowed down the issue.
Translation animation renders fine, but the animation that is not rendering in Octane is a Displacement modifier that is using an animated texture. The animation is rendering fine in the viewport, but when I render to a file sequence, the displacement doesn't animate.
Any ideas why?
I've uploaded the .blend file as an attachment so you can see the issue if you render it out.
Thanks for your help!

I found it!
The Object Type property has been MOVED from the Object DATA Properties tab as shown in the Blender Octane Manual, and is now in the Object Properties tab, under Octane Settings.
It was set to Auto(Experimental). Changing this to Reshapeable proxy, the file renders out as expected. It's really strange that the deformation animates in the viewport but not the render with the Auto setting. I would think that they should be the same.
Thanks so much for your help, protovu! I would have never figured that out.
Hopefully, the Blender Octane manual is updated soon!

Ah, you posted before I sent my last reply!
Thanks again for your help! Do you have experience using Octane outside of Blender? I think it's really tough starting off with Octane in Blender right now, as there's not a great deal of info for things like this.

Hi Loresuto,
I consider myself new to Blender - but maybe not that new anymore - , and really my first Blender was with Octane. Before that, Carrara with Octane.
At first, a real love/hate relationship with Blender, but now definitely positive. It suits my work.
The Auto thing gave me fits for some time.

The manuals have not been that great for me, also.
