Cool, thanks for the link Beppe, it solved the material problem, the chance of crash reduces much, and the materials do stick to the scene.
Cheers,
Thomas
Have anyone tested the camera MB?
It seems it doesn´t work.
The parameters from the plugin are exported correct.
It would be nice when somebody can confirm that...
Does anyone else also have problems rendering images in high resolution?
In scenes with some complex geometry and specular/glossy materials, Octane crashes
when I change to finalrender resolution(approx 4000x3000), or it renders a wrong resolution(ex.:4000x600)
I'm working an a project now, where going above 1400x2000 induces crash. Videocard memory usage is not even half of potential.
Getting messages that the Nvidia driver has crashed and that its been restored.Mostly problems
occure with pathtracing, but also with directlighting.
Hi re0dor. You might wanna read about this old issue here: http://www.refractivesoftware.com/forum ... f=21&t=824
or, just install, without activating the beta 2.2 witch will do the registry hack for you automatically..
reboot the PC after that...
Have found another strange thing, maybe someone has report it.
Looks like a scaling issue, but an import in Modo shows me the correct size.
If I make a 1m cube and use a specular material, then i become a circle as transmission.
I can change the size of the circle with an other IOR value.

EDIT:
It comes at a maxdepth/speculardepth of 3

I think this is just normal internal reflection.
Does it also present with pathtracing at a propper maxdepth like something > 10 ?
Yes, it´s ever present. As long as the depth value is over 2...
Has seen the same effect with 1.022.
If the IOR is > 1.4 the angle to see it, is to sharp.
Maybe youre right and its a normal reflection.
