I have the same impression, all done by developers for developers... you see V-Ray / Fstorm going in a completely different direction, making it simpler, Octane making it more complicated BUT also greatly improving the Octane Engine

Can anyone share the scene file that viewport and render matches for 32 bit exr?

Hey, you are not the only one

but....

sRGB

Render Settings:

3DS Gamma Hack - ON

Immager

Gamma - 1.0
Response - sRGB


Linear

Render Settings:

3DS Gamma Hack - OFF

Immager

Gamma - 2.2
Response - Linear/Off


------------------------

Saving 32bits

Kernel Tab

Passes output setup

Save all render ... EXR File: ON
Save... RGB image: ON
EXR Compression: ( I save uncompressed )
File Type: EXR 32 Bits


It still has something related to Viewport Tone mapping. But you can't know for sure, it's a shame.
