It would be really a pain if the v6 is released with the bugs that I submitted some time ago, because currently, I still have to use 2.2 because of that. So far my latest two bug reports have had no response from Refractive team.
I perfectly understand that Radiance has more and more clients to satisfy and is really busy with coding and managing his company. I'm preventing myself from reporting the bugs by private message because I'm really sure that radiance does it's best, but no answer in the Commercial Support forum as well as in the Release Candidate Testing forum is a bit worrying...
Actually you're right and you might be wrong.
You might be wrong about bug reporting because I've seen many times that bug reporting did get response immediately many many times. Maybe what you could'nt got response about bug tracking
that has been in the time of office moving time or some other problem.
And you're totally very right because the forum has got bigger and bigger. There are times where I take too much time to find out where my problem has been talked about.
I really want a better bug reporting thread somewhere. Mostly bugs are reported at the release thread. From them, I got responses..
I suggest you to wait for the next build. When the developers will cope with this new kernel and release it. All would be okay I think.
The threads opened so far are client based threads. They sometimes fools us like this very thread.. When you read "Octane 1.23-v6" name. You just can't help opening the thread and see that it is a bogus thread. With questions when it will be release... Let's see.
On Oct 1st v5 is released
On Oct 11th this thread looks like its opened, What do you think the 1st question is... "..and when can we expect version 1.23-6 for tests" ...
Is it fine to ask for new build in 10 days? Absoultely Not!
We might ask of course but naming the thread as if it was released and/or to get attention.
I'm really pissed off about it. Paying 99€ doesn't make us the owner of the company.
I think refractive folks are somewhat pissed, too. What I sense is that they gave their precious time to develop things. Rather than answering when when when questions.
But I totally agree with you to have us a decent bug tracking thread. Maybe there might be a thread where Q&A are all tracked and submited with permission from refractive folks.
But they should put a person in charge for it. This means money. so an so forth..
Cheers.
