From what I can see, the Substance shader is a Cinema shader that Octane has managed to convert rather well overall. As I mentioned, Octane defaults all images to gamma 2.2. Perhaps the converter can be updated to be smarter about map types in the future, and as much as I would like to see that, it is not for me to say if, or when, that might occur.

In the meantime, you might have better luck building the material yourself, with the maps that Substance provides. There are several good links online for this, as well as a tutorial by Raphael Rau at www.silverwing-vfx.de That tutorial was made with Octane R3, but the methodology should still apply.

Hi jayroth2020, thank you for the link, but using maps would destroy the procedurality of Substance Designer's .sbsar files (the most powerful part of Cinema's Substance Engine). The .sbsar files allow for multiple resolutions and dynamic looks from one file. Octane for Cinema 4D seems to have converted the base color, metallic, and roughness of it correctly, but as mentioned in the original post, the Normal and Displacement aren't working correctly.

Have you filed a ticket? I don't recall seeing one come in...

I didn't know if I was using the Substance Shader incorrectly with Octane, but I have filed a ticket now. Thank you!
