Good Day,
Have recently upgrade my rhino from 5 to 6, together with the plug in and standalone.
However, there are two problem:
1. Slow loading scene element
-A rhino model with 41425 scene elements takes more than 7 minutes to load; but only takes less than 1 minute*** to load the scene elements compare to render plug in rhino 5***.
Live update has turn off and I am sure the the general setting are the same between two version
2. Glitching Image
-After the viewport is open (In Isometric view), the surface of the rendered models are glitched! never happened in rhino 5 by now in 6.
check attachment for reference images
Best regards
Leon

Octanerender for rhino 6 slow and Glitching Image

the surfaces looks like a z-buffer issue... arethere coplanar / double surfaces in your model? Get rid of them (recommended) or try to change the ray-epsilon value (kernel settings) and see if this makes any difference.
Are you using the same units ?
Is the 3d model very far apart from 0/0/0 ?
If so try to move it to the world origin (0/0/0) and see if this changes something

As Andreas said, this looks like a scaling issue. Make sure the origin of the scene is in the middle of your geometry, and that you have the scene units set correctly. Then adjust the Ray Epsilon. For a city scene like this, you would need a large Ray Epsilon than normal.

Sorry, I do not understand what you are saying here.A rhino model with 41425 scene elements takes more than 7 minutes to load; but only takes less than 1 minute to load.

Many thanks Paul and Andreas for replying me! really appreciate those feedback!
Adjusting the ray Epsilon does the trick (when there is no double surfaces in my model and the 0/0/0 is in the middle of the model)
"A rhino model with 41425 scene elements takes more than 7 minutes to load; but only takes less than 1 minute to load" was a typo
it should be
-A rhino model with 41425 scene elements takes more than 7 minutes to load in render plug-in for rhino 6
; but only takes less than 1 minute*** to load the scene elements in render plug-in rhino 5***.
So I am wondering if there is anything I can do to speed up/reduce the time take to load scene elements?

Check if there is a difference in load speed when you change the Settings of Live Geometry to "All Meshes Live" verses "No Meshes Live".Leon97 wrote:Many thanks Paul and Andreas for replying me! really appreciate those feedback!

What about if you change it to "All Meshes Live"?
