Hello,

I'm making a simple smoke simulation and everytime I need to render a preview I have a lot of omni lights (>500 !) that are created.

Please see the video in attachment (sorry for the awful quality!)

I'm using the last NVidia studio drivers, last Octane 2020.1.4 build and last Phoenix FD 3.14 build.

Hello Paride,

no I didn't, they are created when I press "Open Octane Viewport"

The more I increase the grid resolution, the more omni lights are created... no issue with liquid simulation, just with the fire simulation

Thank you for your time Paride

here is my post from a long time ago where 3ds max creates 500 omni lights

viewtopic.php?f=80&t=71441&p=363956&hil ... ts#p363956

I still don't know why. Having viewport opened with phoenix fire in the scene and then dragging timeline will usually create 500 lights. Maybe something to do with Fire Lights. Make sure they are off otherwise using multiple phoenix grids will make your eval times go up a lot.
