Hey guys,
Got an intermittent one here. In the picture viewer a mix texture (Emissive texture using a dirt node to find edges of an 8k displacement map) doesn't render on random quarters of the picture viewer. The first frame is usually fine then there are problems on the rest. It only happens when i am using a slave to help with rendering.
I was wondering if it was a similar situation to here: viewtopic.php?f=30&t=74939&p=383870&hil ... er#p383870
When I just use the GPUs on the master it renders fine but obv slower.
I'm using 2020.1.3-R2 Plugin with the 2020.1.3 Daemon and 2020.1.3 standalone
My master has 2 x 2070 super and the slave has 1 x 2070 super and 2 x 980ti (I did wonder if the 980ti s might be the culprits)
RTX is off
I tested with 'minimize net traffic' unchecked and still had issues.
Any ideas?
Texture not rendering on one quarter of the screen..

Quick update- tried to limit the slave to only using the 2070 super and not the 980ti and it still happened 8(
Please see the problem here:
***Another update***
Seems to work fine with only the slave 2070 super and 'minimize net traffic' unchecked so perhaps the 980tis are the problem...

Not expert for standalone/slaves thing but did you check client output for errors?

Hey Aoktar,
No, there were no errors in the slave deamon window. It's now working fine but only if I turn off the two 980tis... Which is a shame cos it slows me down 8(

out of curiousity, have you tried rendering ONLY to the 980s? I suspect it has something to do with the fact that 2070 has double the amount of VRAM than the 980. Sadly, the 980 is a pretty old card today...

I haven't actually- might be worth a go, rendering at the moment but will try later.
Funnily enough I have been using this combo of cards now for a couple of weeks and all has been fine,,, Not sure why this particular project is throwing up gremlins... ho hum.

Likely you haven't pushed your memory envelope like this before.
