i have a vdb sequence in the scene aswell as in the sequencer.
seems i need to have one in the sequence to be able to render it.

i often get random crashes relate to vram while rendering, although i have allocate 32gb for out of core usage.
since i can set the frame range to start from where the crash occurred its not an issue.

however, the vdb i have in sequencer after the new start gets greyed out and the material settings i had in place are lost, ie they defer to the default settings.

i am kicking myself not to have made a screenshots of settings, this way i cant really pinpoint the exact same settings and the crash happend mid vdb.

a follow up:
the crashes were caused by my ambitions voxel size setting. i pushed it too low.

however even o exit the orbx settings are disregarded. perhaps they revert to the volume setting i had while exporting, but that makes little sense since i need to fine tune it in scene to get the look i want.
hope it can be remedied.

Ill check it out why the vdb/orbx resets when entering sequencer.

thanks chris,

both the static and animated vdb´s have their settings reset.
it may be related to the sequencer but i an not entirely sure.

the static vdb is indeed in the sequencer because i am keyframing its location...

hi chris,

i did some more testing.

any sort of rbx static or animated has the settings reset upon restarting unreal.
