Why does 2x2 upsampling take the same time as no upsampling?

4x4 works fine, much quicker.

2x2 = no upsampling.

Happens on all scenes.

Ahh.

Could have done with a thread or alert to let us know. Would have saved me time trying to work out what I was doing wrong.

Thanks for getting back though. Hopefully they'll get it sorted soon a 4x4 isn't really clear enough for final renders.

Really surprised they hadn't made this top priority as whilst it's borked, we're taking 4x longer to render than we should be. Surely that's a biggie for a render engine...

Would it be possible, whilst they're fixing the 2x2 upsampling, to separate this feature from the denoiser?

Don't always want the denoiser operating (potential crashes/flicker in animation) so it would be really handy to just turn it off whilst still having the 2x2 upsampling.

you can use 2x2 upsampling from Kernel camera at the moment.

Not much use for animations though :(
Hopefully this will be fixed v soon.

Also separating it from the denoiser would be great.
Currently the denoiser destroys a lot of detail which can be helped a little by turning up the blend value.
However, reducing the denoiser to bring back detail also reveals the unprocessed/pre-upscaled image which looks pants.

Really separate blend controls for denoiser and upscaler...

Maybe I'm not understanding, denoiser is separated from up-sampling.
